Five Years Old

My oldest boy is five! Christian's parents were able to be here for it, which was an extra blessing.

Early morning birthday photos.

Eli helping him unwrap some of his presents.

Knights from Auntie Char and Uncle Lynden.

To go with his castle!

This was a joint effort between his dad, his Uncle Raph, and me.

Opening presents with Auntie Sophie and Abigail.

Cheesy grin before we go for a walk.

Eli looking forward to the walk and playing in the dirt and rocks.

Racing with Malachi.

Christian's parents on the walk.

I stole some pictures from Christian's mum for this blog.  This is one of them.

Silas' Bowling Party

Christian's parents and younger brother were in the country for Silas' 5th birthday.  We got our family together and went bowling to celebrate.

Pappy and Eli

With both sides of our family, we had a lot of people there.  Over 20 kids and adults.

Opening presents.

Aunt Savannah and Silas.

Eli wanted to bowl, too.

Star Wars Legos!  So exciting!

He put on his Superman costume and started moving at lightning speed.

I don't know if his super powers helped with his bowling.

Aunt Sissy and cousin Sadie.

The children looking at the score and helping each other bowl.

The youngest brother and sister together again.

My mother-in-law and my sister.

Silas' cupcakes.

Christian happy with his family.

Police officer costume! I'll do another post about lunch, when a police officer showed up while he was wearing his outfit.

Burnfire

One of the advantages of living in the country:  you can have a bonfire whenever you feel like it (unless there's a burn ban).

So we did just that.

We had loads of brush and cardboard, so we got together we our family and lit one up.

Hello Auntie Char!

Silas with his roasted marshmallow.  I love his work gloves, too.  Once he puts them on, he knows it's time to do some work.

Burnfires, as Silas calls them, are always fun and relaxing.  And you get to burn up all the brush that's been laying around.

"Come on, let's get closer."

He can be such a charmer sometimes.

Hi!

The Asiatic Day Flower

These little flowers grow in the wild, but I love them and let them reign free in my flower bed.

Next to these little petunia-type flowers.  I can't remember their name.

Can you see the blue flowers?  They're also called Mouse Flowers because they look like Mickey Mouse on closer inspection.

And here's Eli eating a cupcake.  What a mess!

Road Work and Goats in the Garden

We were able to make some improvements to our road.

What kind of record would I be keeping if I didn't post the pictures of the great, huge, loud bulldozer that came to our house today?

Silas enjoyed playing in the freshly turned up dirt.

The goats are in my garden!

They came to say hello, but ended up eating my bushes.

Naughty Onion!  Get down!

Rotten kids.

Silas and Christian tried to herd them in a different direction.

But they ended up on my porch!

Which actually just made me laugh.  We finally got them back down into their pen without too many munches on my flowers.
