Around the Homestead

Silas finished school a day early so we went to Boingo Bounce to celebrate before all the public school kids got out for the summer.

Eli is just at the age to really start throwing himself around in there and both boys enjoyed it.

We also bought a milking goat and her two kids, a girl and a boy.  Now we have six goats, but we're going to have to lighten the load soon.  Our pastures aren't big enough for that many.  The momma's name is Apricot and the boys have really enjoyed her milk.

Eli loves being around the animals, as does Silas.  Silas usually has to do work, too, though so it's not always as fun for him.

I love getting in with the animals, even if I get messy and dirty (which happens most days).

Silas named the boy Shake It because he kept shaking his tale to keep the flies away.  He's very friendly and will come up to us.  Which is kind of sad because we're probably not going to be able to keep him.

Daddy squishing his little boy.

This is the girl, who is very shy.  Silas named her Plum.  I thought that went well with Apricot.

Shake It and Apricot closer up.

The family communicating with each other.  With some bath crayons I wrote on the wall, "Mommy loves Silas."  Daddy got home and added, "Daddy loves Eli."  Silas saw it the next morning and wrote, "We love you, too."

We filled up the pool today.  They got soaked and loved it.  It's being to feel like summer outside!
