Somehow, Eli has managed to already be six months old! I'm not sure how it happened.
Eli had his 6-month checkup last week and he's 14 lbs 12 oz and 26 inches long, which is 10th percentile in weight and 40th percentile in height, right where he's been all along. He is eating a little bit more of a variety of things, but we still have had no success with any vegetables. Green beans, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato are all hard to get down him. But he loves cereal, bananas, pears, and peaches. We get these rice rusks for him to chew on and he can work through one of those really quick. He makes a complete mess of himself, but he enjoys it. His hair sticks straight up at the crown of his head, toward the back. Christian's does the same thing when at the right length.
Eli likes to be held a lot. And he likes having your attention. If he doesn't have either one of those things, he cries. But thinking back to Silas, I think he was the same way. It's just that he was the first baby and therefore got to have all of my attention or be held a lot. He is a huge cuddler. Every time I pick him up, he squeezes me tight and tucks his head into my neck. Silas can make him laugh quite easily and he watches his big brother play around in front of him. Silas likes to give Eli kisses and hugs. One night I put Eli to bed and forgot to let Silas kiss him goodnight. Silas got a little upset about missing that part of his bedtime routine. Eli also loves people. Most babies don't like to be passed around to other people but Eli loves it! The only person he's ever cried about being passed to was my grandfather, and that's because he is so deaf he has to shout and it scared Eli. Other than that, he loves having people coo at him and likes to watch the children at church playing around him.
